Give your Pies a Special Twist
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup maple syrup
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup of pecan halves
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the pie crust by combining corn syrup, maple syrup, eggs, butter, salt and vanilla in a large bowl and mix well. Pour the filling into a prepared pie crust and sprinkle with pecan halves.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the center is set when a toothpick pulled out comes out clean. Allow to cool and top with whipped cream or ice cream and serve.
• Vermont Meat Pie
Serves: 8
1 lb. organic ground beef
1 large can organic vegetable soup (diluted)
1 small can organic cut green beans, drained
1 small organic can kernel corn, drained
Lightly brown the ground beef in a medium-sized skillet. Pull out a casserole dish and place the cooked beef in the bottom. Cover with the soup, green beans and the corn as well. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Cover with mashed potatoes, sprinkle with organic cheddar cheese and return the oven for an additional 30 minutes or until the potatoes are browned. Remove and serve as your main dish.

Bread Pudding
Serves: 4 to 6
10 slices organic and natural bread, cubed
3/4 cup organic sugar
1/2 cup organic raisins
1/8 cup organic butter, softened
1 organic free-range egg
1/2 tbs. natural vanilla
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a deep pan for baking and gently mix all ingredients listed above in a large bowl. Pour the mixture into the greased baking dish and bake for about 1 hour. Set a side and cool completely. Serve with organic whipping cream or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
